Forgot to do this last time, but Shout out to Kiana Bates for getting
her mission call to the best mission in the world! Nogoya won't know
what hit them!
This week has been a lot of learning experiences!
On Wednesday we got the opportunity to go to FSY, (it's like EFY but
centered on the For the Strength of Youth,) to help the youth Mogi
(role play) and help them with any questions they had! It was really
fun to interact with them! I got to see a youth from Takabata, Sora
chan! Her group was so cute, we asked the four of them if they wanted
to be missionaries some day, and immediately they all said yes!
Later that night we had a lesson with Jackie. We taught her more about
the law of tithing! She said it is hard because she works so many jobs
just to pay for her sons college. And she doesn't see how it is
possible to pay tithing. I testified to her how when my dad lost his
job and money was really tight, we still decided to pay our tithing,
and through that, he now has a good job and even though it was hard
then, the Lord helped us and provided means for us to pay tithing! I
am so grateful I learned when I was younger how important tithing
really is! I read a talk the other day about tithing and I found
something I really liked "This is not so much a matter of money as it
is a matter of faith. … I urge you, … every one of you, to take the
Lord at His word in this important matter.” We pay tithing in a act of
faith, not because we have a little extra money to give! If we truly
knew the blessings that came from paying tithing, we would see more
people paying a tithing! Thank you Dad and Mom for teaching me at a
young age about the importance of paying tithing! It has really been a
blessing in my life!
On Friday we had DTM, and talked a lot about the Book of Mormon! It
reminded me when I was back in Fuji and I would go on Koukans with
Sakamoto Shimai, and every time we had a lesson she would use the Book
of Mormon and it's not she just used one scripture, she used over 5!
It was crazy! And if anyone had a question, instead of her just giving
them a answer right away, she would turn to another scripture! It was
a really neat thing to watch her be so in tune with the spirit and use
the power of the scriptures! We really learned a lot in DTM, that the
Book of Mormon is what really helps our investigators come converted!
I am so thankful to have the Book of Mormon in my life!
Also I got to go on a koukan with Hirano Shimai in Takabata! We had a
lesson with someone who is close to my heart! Chie Shimai! When we got
there she was so surprised that I was there! She asked us if this was
a dream, or if I were real! Haha, I told her I was real and that we
were having a koukan just for the day! For our lesson, we talked about
the sabbath day! We talked about the importance of attending church!
Sometimes it is hard but the Lord will bless us if we decide to go! I
shared an experience where before my mission, I had work. And
sometimes I would have to work 5pm- 3am! And wouldn't get to bed until
4! But I still decided to wake up for early morning church! And
because of my decision, I felt more awake and more energized, because
I was spiritually recharging!
Anyways, the koukan was really great! I learned a lot from Hirano
Shimai! She is an amazing missionary! She kept say how she just wants
to find people and share this wonderful gospel! She is really
Christlike and so in tune with the spirit! I wish I was like her when
I was a younger missionary!
Saturday, we had a lot of lessons with members! One of them was with
our bishop and his family! We taught about Noah and the Ark, and I got
to use my animal sounds! But we also got to talk about why it is
important to follow the prophet, and how we have a prophet here today
to help us and guide us! Then after I made the two little girls
balloon animals! It was a lot of fun!
Later that night, we had a first lesson with these two girls who
wanted to do the 30/30, who just showed up one day to eikaiwa! They
are the cutest! They are both studying English in college, we asked
them why they wanted to study English and One of them said she wants
to talk to foreigners and travel to New Zealand and America ! The
other one said that one day she hopes to meet One Direction so she can
talk to them! They are so great! We told them a little bit more about
the 30/30 program and told them the other 30 mins is for us to teach
people about the purpose of life, and about God and Jesus Christ! They
said that they were not only interested in the English part, but also
wanted to learn more about the Gospel! They can't meet until the end
of August, but we do have a appointment with them!
I know I say this every time, but I am so grateful to be here on a
mission and to still be growing my testimony each and everyday, and to
help people and their testimonies be strengthened! I am so grateful
for this gospel in my life!

1. At FSY and the girl in the green just got back from her mission and
was companions with one of my friends!
2-3. Chie Shimai didn't want to take a picture, because she didn't
have make up on, so she hid her eyebrows so we followed her!
4-5. Hirano Shimai! And then ending our koukan!
6. The cute eikaiwa girls!
7-8. We are making cards for everyone in the ward, to strengthen our
relationship with them! I took better photos with my camera, so...
