Hello everyone!
This week we've met with a couple of our investigators!
We met her at Aeon (a mall) and we got Ice cream and we just talked
with her! We showed that I can make weird animal noises and some of my
drawings! ( don't ask how we got on to those topic... Because I don't
speak Japanese......) but she is great! We talked to her a lot about
her and if she has been reading he Book of Mormon or praying, she said
she stopped because she kind of felt pressured because the previous
missionary wanted her to do those things so bad, and got excited when
she did. But she was only doing it for the missionaries, she said she
wanted to read and pray because she wants too, not because she is
forced too! We told her that that is how it should be! We said it was
more important that she should read it for herself and not for us! We
then asked her how she felt after she started the first time she read
and when she stopped! She said she felt a difference, and we told her
and promised her if she read and prayed everyday, that she could feel
Gods love for her! She got excited and she said she would read and
pray everyday! It went super well, she is so sweet!
It was also Patrick 姉妹s birthday that day! I blew up balloons and hung
a banner, and I bought her party glasses! It was great!
Anyways, we also went out to eat with another of our investigator, she
hasn't really been reading the Book of Mormon because she wanted to
read it on her own and not really have lessons? So it's hard and we
are trying to figure her needs! We decided that it would be good to
find a story in the scriptures to get her excited! We chose Mosiah 17!
She got super excited that we found something just for her and she
said she would read it! We thought it would be good if we found new
chapters for her to read because she feels like we are really thinking
of her and not just teaching another investigator! I'm excited to
follow up on her on it!
On Saturday at the end of the day we went over to the bishops house
and talked about the Halloween Party, then a former missionary and his
sister and husband, from Australia, came over and his sister and her
husband are not members, we shared a message with them in English and
shared how Christ is always on our side! We could tell that they felt
the spirit! It went so good! It's ALL the Lords timing! We had no idea
that they would be there!
This week we been focusing on getting the member to realize how
important they are in our work! And Patrick姉妹 gave a talk in Sacrament
meeting and told them how important they are! After sacrament meeting,
a lot of members came up to us and set up appointments with us! It is
so great! Members really do play a important role in Dendo, because
there are just 4 of us in Fuji, and a lot of members that probably
have a lot of people that could use the gospel! The ward members are
getting excited to help and they feel important!
Patrick姉妹 and I decided to try something, to think of our
investigators and "assign" them to a ward member. We are going to tell
that member that we chose an investigator that we think they could
work well together and tell them to pray for them. and if they come to
church that they will already love them, and that they will have a
friend in the ward! This is why it is so important! Yep! It will be
great! It will also show the ward members that we are thinking of them
too! So it all plays out! Everyone is a missionary even if you aren't
called as one! We all know someone that might be ready to hear the
gospel! We just need to open our mouths and share it with them!
I love you all so much! And hope you are doing well!

.....AND THEN - I FOUND OUT CALLIE WAS ONLINE AND SO WE WERE ABLE TO HAVE AN EMAIL CHAT!!! IT WAS SO FUN!!!
These are great pics! I would love to see one with you and your bike sometime if possible. You look so good and happy! Are you doing ok? Have you been home sick at all?
Sadly I have not been homesick.... Sorry! I love it here so much! It's already like home! I love the ward so much and everyone is so genki!
I am so glad you haven't been homesick!!!! I am so thrilled that you love it there! That is what I pray for!!!!! Oh .... Dad is going to bed and he said to tell you he loves you!
Oh and we were wondering if you could send us the lyrics to whole wide world by mindy gledhill via email? And if you send my knee brace... Could you send my nice trumpet mouth prince and my Rubik's cube! We math have a opportunity to play the trumpet!
It was Amber's homecoming talk today and It just made me think of you even more. She gave such a wonderful talk and then bore her testimony in Japanese! I loved it!!!
I am going to be sending your Christmas package next week so besides the knee braces is there anything you would really like?
My trumpet mouth piece the one that looks cool! It's like the kcb one? The one that is shaped funny!, and my rubrics cube?:)
Also I just remember that we have been befriending some of our investigators on face book, so if you see a Japanese friend request on my Facebook could you accept it?
Of Course!!
I will be happy to send those things but are there things you would like for Christmas?
Ummmmmmmm...... I don't know! Oh more no show socks, and this might be to expensive but a keyboard case for my iPad? I would be able to type faster for emails and yep! That's really it?
That sounds great. If you think of anything else please let me know next week. I won't send it until after your next P-Day.
So it sounds like you are going to have a Halloween Party. Is it a party just for your District or will you invite investigators or members to it?
In your email to Dad you said it has been raining a lot. Did you get one of the Japanese Rain suits or have you just been using your jacket?
What kind of Ipad do you have and would it be cheeper to buy one there? We could put money in your account for it if that would be better for you.
Whose trumpet do get use? That is so great for you!!!
The Halloween party is for our ward, eikaiwa students, investigators and anyone! We are going to hand out flyers we made, to people on the street! And put them up places! I designed it! Oh and thank you for the lyrics!
I have a iPad mini 2? I've only seen really expensive ones? Oh and there are two members that have trumpets! And we thought it would be fun if Patrick shimai and I did a musical number for something! She brought her mouth piece!
OH fun!!!! You didn't tell us she played the Trumpet!! How cool is that!!!!
About the Ipad keyboard cover.....We will look for a case here for you then. I just hope we get the right one.
You might want to look on the "about" and tell us a year or a model number or something so we make sure we get one that fits your ipad.
Do you get to do Facebook teaching?
I heard we might be able to use Facebook in December? But I am not sure! And so far I have had 2 people who want to be friends so... Yep! Yay for investors, some people don't have phones so they ask if we have Facebook, so I am sure we will see us using Facebook soon!
(Your Poster is )so cute , you did a great job and it (the Halloween Party) sounds like that will be fun!
Hopefully? Considering we are kind of lame at figuring out different things to do! And we don't have a big budget!
I'm sure you will figure out some fun things. You have such a great imagination! You can always take a common game and give it a Halloween twist!
How much longer will you be able to be online? Erin is over at the Stevensons visiting with Christina. I texted her that you were on ... Has she emailed you yet? Also Please tell me when you only have a few minutes left just so I will know. I hope this isn't against mission rules or anything!!
P-days are pretty relaxed! The elders and Patrick shimai are playing settlers of catan? So it might be a while! Isn't t 11:40 there?
That sounds fun. Why aren't you playing?Yes, it is 11:42 but I am in no hurry to go to bed if I can spend time "chatting" with you!!! Where do you go to do your laundry and grocery shopping? What else do you usually do on P-Day? Where are you right now that you can get WiFi?
We have a washer and dryer in our apartment, we go to the church every time we email, there is a grocery shopping down the street from us! We do different things, last week we went to aeon (mall) and went to daiso ( it's a dollar store) and bought things! A couple weeks ago, we had a district activity and went to eat at a Italian restaurant, then went bowling! It was so much fun! We also took things called puris (photo booth thing) it makes your eyes really big and makes you pretty much photoshopped that was interesting! I'm not playing because I am trying to write you and my big email!:) also said don't like that game!:)
How much cooking do you do in your apartment? Do you mostly cook American food? What do you make for breakfast?
Do you go back to your apartment to fix dinner or do you mostly eat out or with members?
Patrick Shimai mostly cooks all the food we eat there, um all Japanese type foods! But people normally feed us or we go out to different places! Um I eat really yummy healthy cereal for breakfast! Yay!
Really? You should probably write some of her recipes down so you will have them later in your mission when you might have to do more cooking. I can also send you some recipes (American) if you want sometime. How long do missionaries usually stay with their trainer? I have heard 12 weeks but don't know if that is how it is in your mission??
That is normally how it works, but Patrick shimai last transfer left her bean and they made her train me! So she only had her last bean for a transfer! But I should have her for two! Oh and we had a question what can we substitute corn starch for? And she just throws things together... So.... Oh could you sent macaroni and cheese for Christmas?:)
Oh that is interesting.. about her being transferred early. I bet you are glad you will be together for two transfers. You seem to like her a lot. Corn Starch - flour works in most recipes. Mix it with some water and then add it to a recipe. Do you have something in mind that you need to add cornstarch to or is it just in general?
I could send one box of mac and cheese but i might have to take it out of the box and put it in a ziplock bag so it won't take up as much room. You know if you are able to buy elbow macaroni there (or something close) I could just send the cheese packets then you just add milk and butter. I could send more that way because It would take up less space and weight. What do you think?
The cookie recipe you gave me? You don't have to send Mac and cheese if you don't want to! Um... It just sounded good, and everyone suggests to ask for it!
Oh you don't need to add cornstarch to the cookie recipe. I just started doing that the last year or so. It turns out just great without it. The corn starch just makes them fluff up more and makes them a little softer. And it's not that I don't want to send the mac and cheese I was just trying to think of a way that I could send you the most of it but not take up as much room or weight.
Grandma's birthday is Tuesday so if you can you might want to email her a happy birthday. She will be 87! Can you believe it? We had Jackie, Jared & kids, Leslie, Jeshua, Sophie, Grant, Emily, Caitlin, Anthony, and Erin here for dinner. It was loud and fun. It has been nice to have Erin here this week but she goes home tomorrow. She has been able to visit with a lot of her friends so I think she is ready to go home to Ryan.
They were hoping to come home for thanksgiving but it just costs too much and they have to pay for tickets to go to Florida for Christmas.
Oh did you get to watch conference? Did you watch it on your Ipad or ... what?
Thank you for reminding me!
It sounded like fun! I hope you all had fun! Do you like Anthony? He seems really nice!
Oh we watched it at the church on Patrick shimai s iPad!
It was fun! We missed you of course but wouldn't want you anywhere else but on your mission. Anthony is great! He is kind of quiet but so sweet. He is REALLY TALL! 6'5". He makes Caitlin look so small! I am so happy for Caitlin. They seem really happy together.. Ohhh that reminds me your cousin Joseph got engaged (I think yesterday). Good for him!!
That's good! Well mom! I love you so much but I have to go! I hope you will do well and sleep well! Good night mom! Thank you for writing me back and forth! I love the weekly emails you send through out the week!
Love so much!!
I love you too!!! This has been sooooooo fun.I am ready for bed. I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day! Many hugs, take care, and know you are always in our prayers!!!! Love Mom xoxoxoxxox

"SO IT WAS ABOUT 1:15 AM WHEN WE FINALLY STOPPED "CHATTING"! IT MADE CALLIE SEEM SO CLOSE AND WAS GOOD FOR MY HEART!" -- Diane Stay
We went on a kokan(comp exchange) this is Abe Shimai. She's so funny!
This is another one of our investigators! She is interesting, she doesn't want to have lessons? But does? She says that she wants to read the Book of Mormon by herself, but we follow up and she hasn't been reading! So this night of the photo we gave her a chapter to read, it was mosiah 17, she seemed really excited! So hopefully she'll read it!
This is my district!
We tried to make cookies........... They tasted good though!:)
We had a FHE last night with some of the members and had really yummy food that everyone brought! And we taught them to play down by the banks! They LOVED it! Oh and the lady in font with the glasses doing a peace sign, is Hasegawa $B;PKe(B, we go to her house every Sunday and Wednesday night and she make THE BEST food!! It's so good! And her English is so good! I still try to speak Japanese to her though!:)
We put our hair in buns.... And we were talking to the Elders discussing plans for the Halloween party we are going to have on Thursday! And Patrick Shimai is getting really at solving the Rubik's cube!
It was Patrick Shimai's birthday! I blew up balloons for her and bought her party glasses!
She's not amused!
Oh this is us planning a Halloween party with a $10 budget..... It's sad....
