Hello to you all in this bright and beautiful world!
Let me just jump right in,
On Tuesday, I got to play a trumpet!! It was really awesome! For the
signing group we are going to sing Swing low, Sweet Chariot! And we
wanted to use a trumpet, so we found someone who was willing to let me
borrow one! I sure do miss it a lot! So I've been able to play it and
practice it this week! And I really have noticed gods hand of helping
me play better and figure out a part for the song which I probably
couldn't have done before! Gods love is so real!
Also on Tuesday we met with Megumi Shimai! She asked us how we study
the Book of Mormon. We told her that We had a Book of Mormon Project
that our Mission did, were we read the Book of Mormon from beginning
to the end, while highlighting a few things! Bunker Shimai told her
that she is wanting to study more about the Atonement, so she started
at the beginning of the book and is going through and highlighting
everything that has to do with the Atonement! We suggested maybe
starting from the beginning, but she said it is hard to understand.
Sometimes she just randomly opens up the scriptures and reads from
there! She handed me her scriptures and I prayed to myself really hard
on what could help her! I opened them up to Alma 38:8-9
"8 And it came to pass that I was three days and three nights in the
most bitter pain and anguish of soul; and never, until I did cry out
unto the Lord Jesus Christ for mercy, did I receive a remission of my
sins. But behold, I did cry unto him and I did find peace to my soul.
9 And now, my son, I have told you this that ye may learn wisdom, that
ye may learn of me that there is no other way or means whereby man can
be saved, only in and through Christ. Behold, he is the life and the
light of the world. Behold, he is the word of truth and
righteousness."
She asked us to define it, and as we were talking she took notes at
the bottom of the margin! She's had us give her scriptures before, and
then define them, but never has she written so much as she did then! I
know I was guided by the Spirit to help her! We love Megumi Shimai so
much!
On Wednesday, we had a Koukan, and I went to Yokkaichi with Jacobson
Shimai! We had a really great lesson with a really cute family! We
talked about faith, and we had a "Shinko Bag" ("Faith bag") and we
asked the little boys if they had faith to reach into the bag to get
the thing in there, the oldest one did and he reached in and got a
little Choco Cake thing, then the two other boys wanted to do it! We
told them that Faith without work is Dead. so that is why when they
act of their faith they receive the "blessings" or the treat! It was
good! The boys were crazy, but it was good!
I also used the animal noises 4 different times that day! ....
On Thursday we had a eikaiwa movie night and watched Finding Nemo!
What? Finding Nemo as a missionary? Yes! President Ishii told us that
we were allowed to watch Disney movies for eikaiwa parties! But as I
was watching it, my missionary mind of mine turned it into the gospel!
I was thinking how sometimes we feel like Nemo, and how our Dad, or
Heavenly Father, gives us "limitations" and how we feel like they are
restricting, so we disobey, we swim to the boat and the diver,
"Satan..." Catches you! But in the end we really do need our father,
and he does love us enough and will come find you! And the rejoicing
moment when Nemo and Marlin reunite will be like us when we once again
can be reunited with our Father in Heaven!! Yay for turning a Disney
movie into the gospel!
Friday we met with a cute family in our ward named the Yuasa's! They
have 4 little kids and so we taught them about Noah! Yes I made animal
noises, and after made them a tone of balloon animals! But the most
important thing was we talked about the importance of prophets, and
how they are here to guide us and help us! And if we follow the
prophet we won't be lead astray!
Saturday we had transfer calls and we are both staying in Gokiso!
Later we had a BBQ with Jackie and her husband and his friends from
work! We played the ukulele for them! There was also a point where we
were talking with Jackie and the other lady, and Jackie was talking
about the church! We then explained why we were here and our purpose
was! She thought it was so interesting! It was also neat to here
Jackies responses about how good church is, and kept saying things
like, "the church I go to...." Or "I love going to this church
because...." It was good to hear and know she is progressing!
We also got the opportunity on Sunday to attend the Sapporo temple
dedication! It was really neat! It is so pretty! As we were there
sitting there, I reflected how much the temple really mean to me! And
how excited I am to go to the temple after my mission! Also how
amazing it is that we have temples here on earth so we can have
eternal families! And I have a friend who is now starting her own
eternal family, and that is because she is sealed to her best friend
for all time and eternity and is soon going to have her first child
who will be sealed to them! I am also thankful for knowing that I am
sealed for ever to my family! I love them so much and so thankful for
living now a days with temples!
And that is pretty much last week! Sorry for always going into to much
details! But I think it's interesting and builds my testimony so...
I love you all so much like always! Have a splendid week!
