This week was also full of those little miracles!
We thought we had a appointment with one of our investigators, but her daughter opened the door and said she was still at work, so we ended up talking with her for a while and decided to teacher her about the commandments! (She's 12) she thought it was interesting, and it some how came up with us also talking about the Plan of Salvation with her! We took out a plan of salvation picture and explained the steps with her! And how we get to the Celestial Kingdom is by keeping the commandments! Knowles Shimai realized she had a English For The Strength of Youth, so we told her we would give her a Japanese one next time! She had really good questions, and even got excited that there were actually Japanese girls her age that attend church!
We went on a companion exchange, and I went to Gokiso with Rogers Shimai! Our plan was to just go try to visit this one less active that lives right by the end of their boundaries and OYM all the way there! We met some really great people and got a lot of phone numbers! Then while on our way back, we stopped at a convenie, and we started talking to this girl who came from the Philippines, and told her who we are and why we were here! Rogers Shimai set a next appointment to meet her is week! It was great!
On Friday while we were housing, we met Kobayashi San! She was friendly and open about religion right away. We talked about why we wanted to become missionaries, and about how we believe in God. She says she isn't sure if God is real but she likes studying religion and from the bible. We talked with her for a while, and she seemed really interested! We asked if we could come back to study the bible with her! She got really excited, and said we could! We switched phone numbers and asked her if we could text her later that night, and she said to text her a lot! Haha! We invited her to church, but she said that she needs to learn more before she does!
On Saturday, after one of our lessons we were at our bikes, when this cute little Obaachan (grandma) comes up and starts talking to us! She was super friendly and was really surprised that our Japanese was so good for only being in Japan sense September! We talked a little about why we were here and what we do as missionaries and talked a little bit about the plan of salvation! She said she was Buddhist, but we said we love sharing our message with everyone! We asked if we could meet again, and she said that she normally sits at the park that was in front of the apartment building then said if she wasn't there we were welcome to come to her apartment! Then gave us her room number! Her name is also Kobayashi!
Sunday, one of the Elders investigators, Jeff, got baptized yesterday! It was really good! Knowles Shimai and I sang the musical number that we pulled together the day before! The whole baptismal service was really beautiful! Also I gave a talk, but, it was in ENGLISH!!! Then Knowles Shimai translated it! It was really random when the bishop asked me to give it in English! But it went really great! I talked about the Sabbath day!
Later that night we were going to try to visit one of our investigators we haven't gotten to meet for a while because she is really busy, to give her cookies we made, and we got to her house and no one answered, so we were about to write a note to her when we see her walk up! She was so surprised that we were there! And got super excited about the cookies! She was sorry that she has been really busy but said we should definitely come more in June!
Sorry for the novel! But this week was full of great things!
Alma 29
"9 I know that which the Lord hath commanded me, and I glory in it. I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy."
We can all be an instrument in this great work!
Also wise words from my companion, "if the world was purple, we wouldn't understand orange, life is a rainbow!"
