WHi!
Tuesday: We had a lesson with a really sweet family, the Yutaka's! We
went over there to help weed her garden. Then when we were done, she
asked us if we could move her tree... so being shimai, we said yes! It
wasn't easy, but through faith and lots of dirt, we moved that tree!
:)
We then tried totsuzening (surprise, suddenly) visit Mochizuki Shimai!
We rang the door bell a few times, knock a few times, then Carey
Shimai was turning around to leave, when I reminded her to try opening
the door! (this is why I love Japan, the Genkan (the area you leave
your shoes) isn't their property(even though it is in their house)) So
it isn't rude to open the door! So she tried opening the door, and it
opened! Steps in and says ''gomen kudasai" then pauses because we hear
her, but she doesn't come, so we keep calling out different things
until she finally came to the door! She so funny! She is this sweet
oldish lady, who teaches piano and is way down to earth! So we just
talked with her for a bit! After, we were OYMing this girl by a
stream, when we saw turtles! Then we saw over a dozen turtles just
sticking their heads out!
Wednesday, we had a Koukan(companion Exchange) I was with Rogers
shimai, in Takabata!
We had a lesson with Shimizu Shimai, and we helped her practice the
Ukulele! Then after, we asked if we could borrow her Ukulele, so we
could dendo with it! She agreed so we went and OYMed people and asked
if we could play them a song! It went well, we Exchanged phone numbers
with this one girl! Also, while we were walking around we were talking
about how people just teach a whole lesson to someone on the street,
when we found this really sweet obaachan(grandma)! We gave her a
Lesson 1 pamphlet, and a flier with the church address on it!
We asked her if we could read the pamphlet with her, and she agreed,
so we went to a bus stop and just sat and taught lesson 1, and gave
her a Book of Mormon, and set a next appointment! Then played the
ukulele to her! Tender Mercies!
That night after kids eikaiwa, a lady wanted to set up a 30/30 program
with us! (30 mins english 30 mins Gospel!) Miracle Koukans are real!
Friday: We met the obaachan, at the Nagoya Eki(train station) On her
own, she read part of the pamphlet and some of the Book of Mormon! We
went over part of lesson 1 with her and answered some of her
questions! We challenged her to pray about it and to find answers
through the Book of Mormon!
Saturday: General Conference!!! I just Love Conference!
After Conference we went to Kin's house (the lady who just invited us
to her house, and gave us her phone number) She has the nicest house I
have ever seen! She has this outside(really inside) thing, where she
has 2 parrots and 2 other birds! And everything was just so fancy! Her
cousin came over with her son, and we had lunch together! Her cousin
asked Carey Shimai if she was going to marry Jesus because we are
sisters! Haha, we told her that we don't marry Jesus! And we won't
become Nuns! Haha!
Later that night, we went to visit the Lovely Lyle and Geraldine! We
had a great lesson! Which one thing really stuck out to me, we were
talking about how do we know that this Church is true. And how God
doesn't give us these things to confuse us! Carey Shimai said
something that I really liked, she said something like, If God told me
that this wasn't the true church, I wouldn't be here on a mission, if
he told me to join a different church, then I am going to join that
church! But I know that He wouldn't lead me somewhere if it wasn't
true! We challenged her to pray and to find out for herself which
church is true, and to act on that prompting!
I also challenge all of you who might feel the same way, to ask God,
because he will give you an answer!
Sunday and Thought: More General conference! I learned so much from it!
I really loved Dieter F. Uchtodorf's talk! He talks about the ruins of
the Lutheran Church and how it was destroyed then rebuilt and even had
some of its original stones as a reminder of what it went through! I
Love how he said "His plan is to build us into something far greater
than what we were - far greater than what we can ever imagine!" So no
matter our case, no matter how broken we may get, If we turn to the
Savior, if we let Him care for us, he can build us into something more
beautiful! I Just Love Conference!!
That's it! 愛しています!!
