Starting off, on..... I'm sorry for the email that didn't send last
week!!! I wrote it all then for some reason it didn't send and then It
died! literally, it disappeared! So this email will be a combination
of both this week and last week!!
So starting with The Christmas week! (sorry it will be really quick
and condensed!)
Tuesday: We went to Ito Shimai's, Got on the wrong bus, ended up
walking a hour ish to her house! Helped her clean her house, then
shared a message!! We Love Ito Shimai!! We also met her neighbor and
she said we could come back and visit her!
Wednesday: We went to Visit the nice Tofu lady we met about a month
ago who owns her own tofu shop, and she gave us something that was
really delicious for free!! She is so sweet!!
Thursday Christmas Eve!: We went with the Elders to Fujinomia and
tried Caroling by the Eki, We decided there weren't many people so our
next idea was to stop people on the street and ask if we could sing to
them, then give them a pass along card! We stopped a few people and
they Loved It!! Then we decided that we were going to stop and sing in
a corner of a intersection! A lot of people walked and drove passed
us, some with big smiles on their faces, and some that thought we were
annoying!! haha oh well!! "The best way to spread Christmas Cheer is
to sing loud for all to hear!" It was so fun! And warm! The weather
here feels like early fall (Sometimes!)
Friday Christmas!: I got to Skype with my kazoku(family)! Yay! After,
we visited some of our investigators to give them something we made
for Christmas and wished them a Merry Christmas! After we went with
the Elders back to Fujinomia to go caroling to Ito Shimai, her
neighbor, and Fukatsu Shimai and kyoudai! (If you were wondering, we
took the right bus this time!) as we were walking from Ito shimai's
house to the Fukatsu we played a game where you would say a Japanese
word and the next person would have to use the last part of that word
to say a new word and the word can't end with n! So for example, Yama
the next person would have to find a word that starts with ma, so...
For example Mamonaku, then the next person would find a word that
started with Ku, and so on!! It was a lot of fun just talking and
getting to know each other better! And that was Christmas! Christmas
dinner was Macaroni and Cheese, so that was awesome!
Last week on Tuesday, we made Mochitsuki (rice cakes) with the ward!
and two of the Elders Investigators came!! I love the Fuji ward!! They
are so welcoming with our investigators and want to build kanke
(relationship) with them! After the ward activity, we decided to go
find a PI that we found last week! but the problem was we didn't know
where she lived, she kind of explained where she lived and that her
house was made out of cement! (which is most houses!) and that is all
we had to build from! So we rode our bikes by the the store where she
said she lived by and then said a prayer! I had a feeling to go to
this one house, but didn't really say anything to Grecco Shimai, we
knocked on 2 doors and it wasn't her! Then we knocked on the house
where I had the prompting to go too, and Let me tell you how important
it is to listen to the spirit is, Because, It was the Lady!! (Never
ignore the prompting of the Spirit!!!) But she kindly welcomed us into
her house, and we talked about who missionaries were and just talked
with her! It was so great! We made a appointment to visit her on
Wednesday!
After that, we went to visit the Uematsu's(Less Active couple) It went
well! We talked about the Book of Mormon and found out that Uematsu
Kyoudai is reading it often!! So that was cool!!
Wednesday: We had a Kokan with the Shizuoka Shimai, so Konno Shimai
came to fuji with me!! It was so fun!! We went and totsuzen (sudden
visit) different people!
We were asked by the Mission President to not totsuzen Anyone from the
31st-the 2nd! so We did a LOT of cleaning those days! Also each night
we had member appointments with the Elders!
On Thursday, New Years Eve!: We went to Baskin Robbins, or 31, and had
31% off Ice cream!! That night we went with the Elders, Matsumoto
Kyoudai, and his son to get tonkatsu!! It was so Good!!!
Friday, Happy New Years!!: We got up early and Matsumoto Kyoudai took
the Elders and us to go to the Bishops house to go see the sunrise
from the ocean!! OH MY GOODNESS!! It was so Pretty!! It is a tradition
that Japanese people get up and watch the first sunrise of the year!!
After we went back to Ogawa bishops house and we said a prayer, then
went home and cleaned more! We then went back to the Bishops house and
had dinner with their family and some more people! And played a
Traditional Japanese Poem game!! It was so much fun!! After we played
the game We went around the table and said a goal that we wanted to do
for the new year!! It was great!
Saturday: We went to the Mochizuki's house and ate a lot of Sushi!! it
was make your own sushi! We were there for over 3 Hours!!!! But I mean
we didn't have anything else to do besides clean the apartment even
more so... But it was fun!!
Sunday: Went to the Kawamura's with the Elders and had A LOT of food!
and More sushi!! I mean, It was A LOT of food!! The table was full of
food, then after we finish all of it, Kawamura Shimai brought out a
pizza, after we finished that pizza, she brought out another pizza,
after the pizza, she brought out jello and gave us two pieces, I then
saw her holding more of the jello and proceeded to give us another
slice of Jello!! After the Jello, she brought out Chocolates and
little cakes!!!!! I felt so sick!! Yay for Japanese culture where you
have to Eat everything they give you or else it is very rude! But we
had a nice visit and Lesson with them!
Now since it is the New Year and we all have new goals, I have been
thinking a lot of what I could share with you all, but I am not a
fortune Cookie and can't think of anything to say, so I will share a
scripture instead!
Alma 32:
35 O then, is not this real? I say unto you, Yea, because it is light;
and whatsoever is light, is good, because it is discernible, therefore
ye must know that it is good; and now behold, after ye have tasted
this light is your knowledge perfect?
36 Behold I say unto you, Nay; neither must ye lay aside your faith,
for ye have only exercised your faith to plant the seed that ye might
try the experiment to know if the seed was good.
We should continually make goals and try to accomplish them, But we
need to remember that We also need to remember to put our trust in
Christ, that through him, we can accomplish everything! We might not
know what will happen this year, but if we exercise our faith,
anything thing that is good, God WILL help us in those things!!
I love you all and Happy New Year!!!
