This week was really awesome!
On Tuesday, we met with a PI (potential investigator.) we had dinner
with her and talked about who we are and why we were missionaries! She
said that she is interested in our message, but right now she is
really busy with school and has no time, but she was interested where
our church was and might come! She might also come to some activities
if we had them? But yeah! It's all in time!
On Wednesday, we met with Jackie and watched the Joseph Smith movie
with her! We watched it in Spanish so she could fully understand
everything! She asked us why bad things happened to Joseph, because he
didn't do anything wrong. We told her that sometimes there are people
that don't agree with different religious beliefs! But he didn't deny
who he saw! I felt the spirit so much while watching it! Even though
it was all in Spanish!
On Friday, we met with Yuuka and Misaki! The two girls that were
interested in eikaiwa! We did the English part, then we taught the
actual lesson, we asked them what their image of God was, one of them
said that God is everywhere, and doesn't have a body. Then the other
one said that he does have a body and that he is superior and has a
staff and stands on a cloud! Haha! It was the cutest thing! We
explained who God is and that he does have a body and that we are his
children! We talked about prayer and how we can talk to God through
prayer! And how he wants to hear us! We asked them if we could give
them home work, the were so excited! We asked them if every night
before bed if they would pray! The got out their phones and made notes
to remember to pray!! It was the cutest thing!! They agreed to pray
every Night! Also they are going to take a bible class in college
together! They are the most prepared girls I have ever met so far!!
On Saturday, We had a really great time in Kanazawa for a concert! I
got to sing a solo! I sang Wonderful world, with the ukulele! I was
really nervous! But the Lord helped! Also I got to play the trumpet in
the song swing low, sweet chariot! I love this opportunity we have in
the music group to get to share the gospel through music! I felt Gods
love so much for these Japanese people and for the opportunity I have
to be a missionary here at this time!
So on the train ride home, the only empty spots were next to random
people! So everyone sat next to someone random, and it was really
awesome! I sat next to this one lady and I started talking to her,
she asked me what we were all doing here, I told her we were church
volunteers and that we do a lot of things, like teach English, do
service activities, and we are part of a singing group and that we
just had a concert, I told her that our main purpose in Japan was to
teach about God and Jesus Christ! She thought it was really
interesting! Then there was a long pause, then she turns to me after
the person checked our tickets and she said that a couple of her
children passed away recently and that she was really thankful I sat
next to her and she said that I reminded her of God and Jesus. I asked
her what her thoughts where about the purpose of life, she said that
its hard to think about, but she said we are here to be happy and to
enjoy. I then testified to her about how we're are here to experience
different things, and we are here to be happy! I then asked her what
her image of God was, she said that he was sounds superior and is
scary. I told her that he is like our earthly father and that he is
really loves everyone and that he isn't scary and he wants to help all
of us! She just nodded and then we just sat there! She then took a
long nap, and I just prayed to find a way to help her, I wish I would
of said better things to her before, but I know that what I said was
what she probably needed! After her nap I just kept talking to her and
getting to know her! Then she said that the next stop was her stop, I
asked if I could give her a pass along card, but then I couldn't find
one, so I asked if I could give her my favorite book! I gave her the
Book of Mormon and told her that this book changed my life, and that
it can answer her life questions! She said she would try to read it!
Hopefully one day she will meet with missionaries again!
This morning, at 8:50, we got a call from the AP's (assistant to the
president). And Bunker Shimai answers the phone, he then asked if he
could speak to me! He asked, "do you like Gokiso?" "Yes I love it" "I
am so sorry to hear that.... Because you are transferring to Meito."
"WHAT!!!" We were so shocked! Transfer calls were two weeks ago and
actual transfers were last week people! I am being emergency
transferred because one of the Shimai is going home to help her feet
heal from collapsed arches! And Ogasawara Shimai is my new companion!
She is Japanese, but speaks perfect English! Also I will be Senpai,
which is my first time! She is transfer 5 and she just transferred
there last week, so... Pretty much we are white washing the area!
Which means we have to learn the area by ourselves! Wow! I am so
nervous, yet so excited at the same time!! Wow the lord really does
know all things! And I need to learn to trust his plan for me! I am
going to miss Gokiso with all my heart, but if it is the Lords plan,
it will be my plan!!
And that's it! I love you all! Have a wonderful day? Week? Hour?
